Why does she owe me $114.83?? It's all because she wanted a metal pumpkin....
Last week, Hobby Lobby had a great sale on their metal decorative items, and I bought two metal pumpkins--one for my kitchen table and one for a secret sister gift for a mother's group that I belong to. Loretta spotted my bargain pumpkins and asked me to buy her one if I found them on sale the next time I was at Hobby Lobby. As luck would have it, I had an out of town doctor's appointment this morning. Before I went to the dr's office, I made a quick dash to Hobby Lobby JUST FOR LORETTA. I put this in caps so you (and my husband) will know that it is all her fault.
While I was there, I quickly discovered 3 things: 1.) the pumpkins were NOT on sale; 2.) Christmas ornaments were 40% off; and 3.) Copic markers. I don't even have to add anything else to #3 because, well, Copic markers says it all.
I did NOT buy a metal pumpin. (Whew, I saved $7!! Now, in hindsight, I realize that it would have been cheaper for me to GIVE Loretta my pumpkin.)
I bought several glass Christmas ornaments. Christmas ornaments are my weakness and I can buy them on any day of any given month of the year. It does not bother me at all to buy festive holiday ornaments in the middle of June... If it 'speaks' to me, I buy it. (How much were they? I don't know. All I know is that I SAVED 40%) I'll have to post pics of them tomorrow. One of my favorite ornaments is a reindeer--it has some super cute rhinestones and glitz on it. I'm sure that the glitz will totally win over my hubby when he sees my latest stash of Christmas ornaments. **rolling my eyes**
I bought some Copic sketch markers. (Cost? Hmmmm, I don't even want to add up the cost. It's not like I bought a boxed set--just a few colors to "practice" coloring with.) I was hoping to find the original markers, but they didn't have any in stock. I thought I would try out a few of the colors to see if they are worth the "hefty" cost. : ) I bought 2 shades of pink, 2 shades of green, 2 shades of yellow, and 1 blue. I *know* that I had TWO different shades of blue markers, but somewhere I must have dropped one of them. Who knows?? I decided that I needed 2 shades of each of these colors so that I could practice "blending"... I'm crossing my fingers that they blend as nicely for me as the do for the talented SCS girls that use them. Hopefully I'll be able to find time to play with them tomorrow. I'll give an update as soon as I try out these babies.
So, at the end of my quick trip, the total was $114.83. Talk about an expensive pumpkin. **winking**

Allyson, my little cupcake, is STILL sick. I took her to the doctor yesterday, and after a few hours and a few tests, Dr. Meredith determined that she has pneumonia. Isn't that crazy? I feel like the crummiest mom ever because I had no idea that she was this sick. She either has viral or bacterial pnuemonia--if it's bacterial, the amoxicillin will knock it out within 48 hours; if it is viral, it will just need to run it's course. If she is still running a fever tomorrow afternoon, I will take her back to Dr. Meredith so he can prescribe something new. She has had a fever off and on since last Friday.
Since I had a dr's appointment out of town today, my SWEET friend Phyllis watched Allyson for several hours. Phyllis is such a great friend. Not many people would take time out of their schedules to come watch your sick child for you. Thanks a million, Phyllis!!!
